Sweden is closer than you think! The 8th Annual Triathlon will again feature the friendly Swedish communities of the Chisago Lakes Area. Paradise Park offers an eagle eye’s view of the swim course. The Swedish influence abounds throughout the event with participants finishing under the Swedish flag.

DISTANCE
  
Sprint: 1/4 mile swim, 22 mile bike, 3.1 mile run
     Half: 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run
  

THE COURSE
Swim Course
The swim is at beautiful Paradise Beach/Chuckie Lundquist Park in Chisago Lake.  Plenty of buoys will be available to rest if needed and a balloon arch as the guide for the finish point.
Bike Course
The bike course is new: few rollers, mainly flat. The run goes through charming residential streets with community support and several water stations.
Run Course
Both run courses follow residential roads.  Roads are well kept and flat.  

QUICK BIKE SAFETY CHECK CAN BE DONE AT FOREST CYCLE AND SKATE TENT the morning of the event.  Fairview Lakes Health Services will be providing excellent medical coverage for the weekend. We will have massage therapists on hand for the Half Ironman.

KIDS EVENT
Don't forget about the KIDS TRIATHLON on Saturday July 27. All participants receive a shirt, goody bag, food and fun after the event. Awards given to each age.

WHAT MIDWEST SPORTS EVENTS PROVIDES
We provide technically sound, safe, and exciting events.  Participants receive a
DRI WICK SHIRT, swim cap, food, ice bath, massage, beer and fun after the event. 

Bike racks will have your race number and wave you start in.  Each mile on the run courses will be marked.  All courses will have highly visible signage for each turn.  The long bike course will have aid stations and bottle exchange. There will also be plenty of aide stations along the course.  

We will have wetsuit strippers on the way to transition from the swim to assist with the removal of wetsuits.

Transition area is guarded at all times.

  • 10 Opportunities for fluids on the Half Iron Run Course, 4 opportunities on the Sprint Run Course

    • Mile 1.5: Water & Gatorade
    • Mile 3.5: Water, Gatorade, Hammer Gel & Carbs
    • Mile 5: Water, Gatorade, Hammer Gel & Carbs
    • Mile 6.25: Water, Gatorade, Hammer Gel & Carbs
    • Mile 7.5: Water Gatorade, Hammer Gel & Carbs
    • Mile 8.5: Water, Gatorade, Hammer Gel & Carbs
    • Mile 10: Water, Gatorade, Hammer Gel & Carbs
    • Mile 11.5: Water & Gatorade
    • Mile 12: Water & Gatorade
    • All Water Stations on the run course will have Band-Aids and ointment

VOLUNTEER
Get a front row seat as a volunteer!  Volunteers are needed throughout the event to help with participant body marking, directing athletes on and off the course, and handing out water and food.  All volunteers receive a t-shirt and a big thank you!!! AWARDS

Awards will be given to the first overall female and male winners of the Half Ironman. 
Over $5500 in prize money awarded to the top F/M winners:
1st- $1000, 2nd- $600, 3rd- $400, 4th- $300, 5th- $200
Awards will be given to the top 3 male and female in 5 year increments: 12 and under, 13 to 99 plus.  Awards to the top overall 3 relay teams, Athena and Clydesdale. Medals are awarded to the Half finishers. This event is part of the Aurora BayCare Series which offers additional prizes.

* Non-USAT members will be charged an additional $12.

Training Rides
